M77 carriageway opens after crash

The southbound carriageway of the M77 has reopened after being closed following a car crash.

The lanes near junction 8 in Ayrshire were shut after the one-vehicle collision at about 0830 BST.

The female driver of the car was taken to Crosshill Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Emergency services attended the incident and traffic was diverted at junction 8 of the motorway, which connects Glasgow to the south.
