The brother of a trainee manager who was murdered inside a Glasgow restaurant has appealed to the killer to hand himself in.
The body of Eleni Pachou, 25, who was from Greece, was found in Di Maggio's pizzeria in Ruthven Lane in the city's west end at 0820 BST on Friday.
Detectives said Ms Pachou met a "violent death" and have revealed a four-figure sum of money was stolen.
It is thought she may have been stabbed as the restaurant closed on Thursday.
Spiro Pahos attended the press conference with his 65-year-old father Yiannis Pachos who had flown in from Athens.
The 27-year-old, who is a student in Glasgow, said the family could not return his sister to Greece for burial until her murderer was caught.
"Please let us mourn. Enough people have suffered"
Mr Pahos said that had caused great distress to his relatives who held strong beliefs about life after death.
He said: "As you know Greeks had a vision of an afterlife where the dead would wait by the bank of a river to be ferried to the realm of the dead.
"To leave a body unburied was regarded as the most terrible of punishments.
"All I can say to this person who deepened our family and friends in grief is to come forward with the truth and allow my family to mourn.
"Please let us mourn. Enough people have suffered."
The murder inquiry was launched after a post-mortem examination was carried out on Ms Pachou, who lived in the city's North Frederick Street.
Possible motive
Det Ch Insp Michael Feighan, who is leading the investigation, said Ms Pachou had been attacked with a blade and tried to fight off her attacker.
He said: "There are indications that Eleni fought for her life."
Det Ch Insp Feighan said the restaurant's takings for that night were missing suggesting robbery could be a possible motive for the crime.
Officers have not yet determined how the killer gained entry to the restaurant and are considering the possibility the person may have hid somewhere on the premises until closing time.
Witnesses heard the shutters of the restaurant being pulled down some time between 1240 and 0120 BST on Friday morning.
The detective renewed his appeal for anyone with information to come forward, particularly customers who dined in the restaurant that night or anyone who was in the area late on Thursday evening.
Police also want to trace an individual Ms Pachou spoke to on the phone, a short time before she was attacked.
Det Ch Insp Feighan said: "With the passage of time it is certainly concerning that they may have information."
Less than a day before Ms Pachou was found, the partially-clothed body of businesswoman Moira Jones was discovered in Glasgow's Queen's Park. Police do not believe the two murders are connected.
There are 198 officers involved in the separate inquiries.
