Police find body of missing man

Police searching for an elderly man with dementia who went missing on Friday have found his body.

Eddie Griffiths, 77, was last seen by staff at Invereck Home in Dunoon at about 1830 BST on Friday.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said despite the best efforts of emergency services the body of Mr Griffiths was discovered in the Dunoon area.

There were no suspicious circumstances and relatives were informed. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
