Glasgow Airport attack hero John Smeaton has spoken of "the proudest moment" of his life after he received the Queen's Gallantry Medal.
Mr Smeaton was one of a number of members of the public who intervened on 30 June last year when a burning car crashed into the airport terminal.
At Buckingham Palace, he said her Majesty congratulated him.
The 31-year-old added: "We just had a wee chat. She said well done and congratulations."
He has been lauded for his actions both in the UK and in the US.
Earlier, Mr Smeaton said his actions were nothing special.
"I just booted a guy," he said.
Since the incident, Mr Smeaton has been promoted to head of security at an airport car park.
