Man dies in hospital after crash

Western Infirmary A man has died after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Clydebank.

Gary McNiff sustained serious head injuries in the crash on Great Western Road, near the Drumry roundabout, at 2145 GMT on Thursday.

The 48-year-old from Halgreen Avenue, Drumchapel, was taken to Glasgow's Western Infirmary but died on Sunday as a result of his injuries.

The 53-year-old female driver of the Ford Fiesta car was uninjured. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
