Police arrest in shooting probe

Barry Simpson A 29-year-old woman has been arrested by police investigating a shooting in Lanarkshire which injured a new father.

Barry Simpson, 33, was shot outside his girlfriend's home in Blantyre at about 2105 GMT on Tuesday, 22 January.

A police spokesman said: "A woman has been arrested in connection with this incident. A report has been forwarded to the procurator fiscal."

The 29-year-old woman appeared from police custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
