Poles arrested on fraud charges

Detectives investigating an employment fraud in which Polish workers were lured to Scotland for non-existent jobs have arrested two people.

Strathclyde Police said people were "posing as reputable employment agents" in the force area.

A spokeswoman said: "A 31-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, both Polish nationals, have been arrested and detained in police custody."

Both were expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
