A company whose contract to supply fire equipment to a Scottish airport was cancelled has taken legal action against its operator.
Argyll and Bute Council, which owns Oban Airport, refused to accept two new appliances from supplier Angloco.
The company has now invoked out-of-court arbitration proceedings in an attempt to resolve the situation.
The council has maintained its position that the appliances had not met the required standards.
Argyll and Bute Council, which cancelled the contract, also said that the company had failed to meet delivery deadlines.
Yorkshire-based Angloco has insisted that the custom-built vehicles were available for immediate delivery and had been deemed fit for purpose by a third party inspection.
In a statement, the company said: "Regrettably a resolution of the dispute has not been forthcoming and, as Angloco believes Argyll and Bute Council's actions have been a repudiatory breach of contract, Angloco has invoked the arbitration dispute resolution procedure contained within the contract with Argyll and Bute Council."
The council has been making arrangements to have alternative fire appliances in place.
