High-rise blaze leaves man dead

Flats in Whitevale Street A 52-year-old man has died after a fire at a flat in the east end of Glasgow.

Fire crews dealt with the blaze which started on Monday evening in a flat on the 26th floor of a building in the city's Whitevale Street.

Officers said that the man's body was discovered inside the home after the fire at about 1840 BST.

Strathclyde Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and confirmed that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
