Ardbeg distillery says its bottles of 10-year-old whisky will be the largest bottles of single malt on sale in the world.
Each bottle weighs 6.5kg (14lb), is 52cm (20.5in) high, and will be priced at £350 each.
The 57.3% strength Ardbeg Mor whisky is produced on the island of Islay on Scotland's west coast.
Of the 1,000 bottles to be released worldwide, 250 will go on sale in the UK on Wednesday at a limited number of outlets in London and Scotland.
The manager of Ardbeg Distillery, Mickey Heads, said: "Mór means 'big' in Gaelic, and is the perfect name for this big, full cask strength whisky.
"Although Ardbeg is already big on Islay, we thought we'd create this giant bottle to help spread the word and make sure fans across the world can always enjoy a spot 'Mór' Ardbeg."
Standard 70cl bottles of the Ardbeg 10-year-old single malt whisky are already on sale.
