Primary school wins 'blog' award

Woodhill Primary School A primary school has won an award for its innovative international links with schools over the internet.

Staff and children at Woodhill Primary School in Bishopbriggs have set up blogs on subjects including French language and healthy lifestyles.

They use them to communicate with children in several European countries.

The Scottish International Schools award was presented by Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop at a ceremony in Glasgow's City Hall on Friday.

Depute head teacher Aileen Spence said she was absolutely thrilled, and that the award was recognition of the hard work of staff and pupils at the school.

She said: "The benefits for the whole school are incredible.

"The children speak for themselves - we have people from the private sector singing the praises of their work. The children are a credit to us."
