Man arrested over Airdrie murder

William Quinn A man has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a 42-year-old in Airdrie.

William Quinn, 42, of Rochsoles Drive, died after a disturbance in a common close in the street where he lived at about 0320 BST on Saturday.

Another man, aged 39, was said to be "stable" in hospital after being injured in the incident.

Strathclyde Police said later that a 34-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the murder.

He is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday.
