Man in custody over bridge climb

A man is due to appear in court after what police called a "spiderman-style" incident on the Forth Road Bridge.

Fife Constabulary confirmed a 22-year-old man from Portobello in Edinburgh had been arrested and was due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court later.

The bridge was closed for an hour from about 2200 GMT on Thursday after a man was spotted climbing the bridge.

The man was taken into custody. Traffic was diverted via the upper Forth bridges during the incident.

No-one was injured.
