Doctor in breach of data report

Doctor's stethoscope (generic)

A doctor in Fife has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged breach of NHS data protection.

The health service said the doctor was reported to police in connection with accessing electronic records.

NHS Fife said no patient data was lost, patient care was not compromised and all patients whose records may have been accessed have been notified.

NHS Fife alerted Fife Constabulary in October about its suspicions.
