A man who died following a one-vehicle accident on Scotland's busiest motorway has been named by police.
John Sutherland was trapped when his car overturned on the M8 at 0515 GMT on Saturday while he was driving to work.
Emergency crews called to the incident were not able to save 36-year-old Mr Sutherland, who died at the scene.
The crash happened on the eastbound carriageway between Harthill and East Whitburn. The road was closed for several hours.
Mr Sutherland's green Rover car crashed after it left the carriageway.
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "We know that Mr Sutherland was travelling from Glasgow, where he lived, to his place of work in Edinburgh.
"However, we are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was in the company of John on Friday night or Saturday morning."
The force also urged anyone who may have seen a small green Rover MG ZS motor car travelling east on the M8 at about 0500 GMT on Saturday morning to contact them.
