Woman knocked down on busy road

A woman is being treated for a head injury after being knocked down in Edinburgh.

The 32-year-old was hit by a Peugeot car on Nicolson Street near the KFC restaurant at 0820 BST on Tuesday.

Police breathalysed the driver of the car and had the road returned to normal by 0915 BST.

The woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with suspected concussion. An eyewitness said feathers from her coat had gone everywhere.
