A further arrest has been made in connection with a shooting outside a casino, police have confirmed.

Tony DeMarco suffered head injuries after being shot outside the Gala Maybury Casino in Edinburgh in June.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempting to murder 62-year-old Mr DeMarco.

The suspect, who is the sixth person to be arrested in connection with the incident, is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Last week it was announced two other men, both aged 34, had also been arrested and charged with attempted murder by police investigating the shooting at the casino in the city's Maybury Road.

It is expected that the pair, from Dundee and Broughty Ferry, will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this week.

Jamie Robertson, 24, Frank McGlone, 38, and James Corbett, 20, all from Paisley, have already appeared at the court, also on attempted murder charges.
