Man murdered in front of children

Murder scene

A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was stabbed to death while out for a walk with his girlfriend and her two young children in Edinburgh.

Sean Hay, 23, of Wardieburn Road, was attacked by three men in Wardieburn Street West at 2230 BST on Tuesday.

Mr Hay was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died from his injuries.

Police said the attack in Granton was unprovoked and the area would have been quite quiet at the time.

They are appealing for witnesses.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said the victim was out with a dog and his girlfriend, who was pushing a buggy.
