Rural roads targeted in crackdown

Police have warned that they will be out in force across North East Fife this weekend monitoring rural driving.

Road policing officers and speed camera vans will be targeting country roads for three days, starting on Friday.

They will be sending officers in unmarked cars and on motorbikes to look for people who are driving dangerously.

Andrew Jones, safety camera partnership manager, said: "We will be targeting our resources at rural sites with a history of casualties."

He added: "Fife has some spectacular scenery on many of its rural roads but these routes can prove treacherous when approached at inappropriate speeds."
