Parents are to protest against the planned closures of Edinburgh Leisure creches at a forthcoming council meeting.

They will be holding banners and collecting signatures for a petition at the City Chambers on 29 May.

Campaigners also hope to bring a deputation which will call on direct council funding for four creches.

They hope Kirkliston, Leith, Craiglockhart and the Royal Commonwealth Pool will remain open.

The parents are also angered by a £2 price rise at creches which will remain open.
