Appeal over assault on pedestrian

A man who indecently assaulted a woman in Edinburgh is being sought by police.

The assault happened in Hutchison Road, near Slateford Road, at about 1630 BST on Sunday.

The 29-year-old woman was walking along listening to music when a man approached her from behind and indecently assaulted her.

No description of the man is available, but police are appealing for witnesses who may have spotted anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "There were a number of passing motorists in Chesser Avenue, and we are keen to speak to the drivers of two taxis that were parked in the entrance to the Old Fruit Market in Hutchison Road at the time."
