McConnell unveils Christmas card

Pupils from Bruntsfield Primary School, who made the card, joined the first minister in Bute House on Friday morning to see the final product.

It was produced as part of the school's migration project which gave all pupils the chance to explain their journeys.

The card will go to hundreds of people in Scotland and around the world.

'Working together'

Jack McConnell said: "I am delighted to be able to share with others the moving stories of the children from Bruntsfield Primary.

"Their wonderful patchwork makes for a colourful Christmas card, but the wonderful stories behind the pictures are even more colourful.

"The children's stories reflect Scotland today. But what has struck me most is the way they have all worked together to tell their stories.

"Sharing their experiences has helped bring them all together, and developed their understanding of the world."
