Man dies after house fire rescue

A man has died after a house fire in the south side of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the house in Printers Land, Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, at about 1630 BST.

The man, who has not been named, was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said inquiries were ongoing to establish the dead man's identity and the cause of the fire.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
