What the Scottish papers say
Many of the papers lead with the resignation of Labour MP David Cairns, who stepped down from his ministerial post in protest at the prime minister's leadership.
The Daily Record describes it as "the most serious revolt yet" against Gordon Brown.
The Press and Journal quotes Mr Cairns as saying he is not part of a plot against the prime minister.
Cairns was an unlikely assassin - a loyal Labour MP who had never voted against the government, says The Scotsman.
The Herald says Gordon Brown faces an anxious wait to see if any more ministers follow.
