The death of a Scottish holidaymaker after a street fight in Benidorm is being investigated by Spanish police.
Graham Heggie, 27, from Broxburn, near Edinburgh, died yards from the place he was staying from a "severe blow to the face", police said.
A fight "without motive" broke out between him and two friends and another group of men, a detective added.
Mr Heggie and his friends, who had been drinking, were 100 yards from their apartment when trouble began.
Alarm raised
Police said the fight started just before 0600 local time (0500 BST) on Friday.
The two companions ran back to the apartment block to raise the alarm - but when police and an ambulance arrived, Mr Heggie was already dead.
A police officer said: "We are waiting for the results of an autopsy, but it appears that the victim suffered a severe blow to the face."
Eight French people were detained, but later released after questioning.
