A man released early following a conviction for torture has been sent back to jail for four years after he was caught trafficking drugs.
Kenneth Woods, 36, was jailed for 16 years for torture and attempted murder in 1996.
Woods, from Greenock, was released early on licence last year, but within six months he was caught with an estimated £2,200 worth of cocaine.
At the High Court in Edinburgh he was ordered to return to prison.
Woods will serve four years of his earlier sentence and the judge also ruled that the sheriff who will deal with the drugs offence should impose a consecutive jail term.
Gang attack
Lord Carloway told Woods: "You were released on parole in respect of an extremely serious offence. Within months of that you were involved in the supply of a class A drug."
He was originally jailed along with five others for imprisoning and torturing a woman at a flat in Greenock.
The victim was forced at knifepoint to drink urine, bleach, cooking oil and toothpaste.
She was also kicked, punched, stabbed and scalded by the gang.
