Pensioner dies after road crash

Police car

An 88-year-old man has died in hospital a week after his car was involved in a three vehicle collision in Londonderry.

One of the vehicle's involved in the accident, which took place last Wednesday on the Glenshane Road, was a police car.

The officer who was driving it was taken to hospital with serious injuries, however, they are not believed to be life-threatening.

A police spokesperson said that the ombudsman had been informed.
