Two released over McDaid killing

Kevin McDaid

Two men arrested over the murder of Kevin McDaid and attempted murder of Damian Fleming have been released.

Mr McDaid, a 49-year-old Catholic, was attacked by loyalists after a row over republican flags in the Heights area of the town in May.

The men, aged 35 and 60, were arrested on Wednesday. Police said they had been released pending further inquiries.

Ten men have, so far, been charged in connection with the 24 May attacks, six of them with murder.

A total of 25 people have now been arrested during the investigation.
