Plant plans could threaten jobs

Perfecseal

A medical packing company has warned that 300 jobs could be under threat at its factory near Londonderry after investment in the plant was suspended.

Perfecseal said plans for a waste recycling plant near its factory would seriously harm its business and could threaten existing jobs.

Its parent company, Bemis, has suspended all investment and recruitment at the plant in Campsie.

The firm has lodged an official objection to the application.

Glassdon, a waste recycling company based in Toomebridge, have applied to build a plant in Campsie.

No-one from the company was available for comment.
