Farmer murder police release man

Patrick Devine

A 32-year-old man arrested by police investigating the murder of Claudy farmer Patrick Devine has been released without charge.

Mr Devine was found slumped over his dinner at his remote farmhouse in the Sperrin Mountains in September 2004. He had been shot.

He was a psychiatric nurse and ran a large-scale sheep farm. The killing was featured on Crimewatch in June.

The detained man was arrested in Londonderry on Thursday.
