Man attacked by city centre gang

Bishop's Gate

A man has been injured in an attack by four men in the centre of Londonderry, police have said.

He sustained cuts and bruises to his face and hands during the incident, which happened on Bishop Street at about 0300 BST on Wednesday.

The police have said they are investigating the possibility that the attack might have been sectarian.

They have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Strand Road police station.
