A number of petrol bombs were thrown in the grounds of a hospital in Lurgan overnight, police have said.

It is believed about seven were thrown causing minor scorch damage to the ground and one of the buildings at the hospital.

A petrol bomb was also found inside a portable building, however this had failed to ignite.

A small window of the building was smashed and it is believed stones were also thrown.

Earlier in the town, a bus bringing Crusaders Football Club supporters back from their Europa League match against FK Rabotnicki at Mourneview Park was attacked in Sloan Street.

A club spokesman said three petrol bombs and stones were thrown at the bus which was taking women, children and pensioners back from the game.

"Two of the petrol bombs missed and one hit the rear passenger side causing scorch damage, two windows on the bus were also broken," he said.

"The people on the bus were not injured, but were left very shaken."
