Man 'critical' after city attack

City Hall

A 27-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was beaten in Belfast city centre.

He was attacked and beaten by two people outside the front entrance to Belfast City Hall at 2115 BST on Friday.

The man is being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Police said a 21-year-old man had been arrested for questioning about the assault. They have appealed for witnesses.
