Police car

An eight-month-old baby boy suffered bruising and his mother's wrist was broken after masked men attacked them in east Belfast.

A man also suffered head and hand injuries in the attack at a house in the Bloomfield Parade area at about 2330 GMT on Friday.

The baby had bruises to his head. All three people were treated in hospital and were later discharged.

Police said they had yet to establish a motive for the attack.

They have appealed for information.
