Pensioners targeted in burglary

Police car

Two elderly women have been the victims of a burglary at a house in east Belfast, police have said.

Three men in their late teens entered the property at Parkgate Avenue, in Ballyhackamore, shortly before 2110 GMT on Thursday night.

They ransacked bedrooms and stole a sum of cash.

The women, who were in their 80s and 90s, disturbed the men in the living-room and one of them was pushed into a chair. The men escaped on foot.

Neither of the women were injured as a result of the incident, but were left shaken by their ordeal.
