Two dead after separate accidents

A 20-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he received in a traffic accident on the Hilltown Road in Newry on Thursday 23 October.

He was Daniel David McCormack from Castlewellan.

Two cars were involved in the collision which happened close to the Benagh Road junction.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl has died after a traffic accident in Lisburn on Friday night. She was Elyce Lewsey from the Oakridge area of the city.

The police said only one vehicle was involved in the accident, which occurred on the Rock Road shortly after 2100 GMT.

A section of the road between Sheepwalk Road and Stoneyford Road junction was closed for a time.
