Man arrested over stab incident

Epworth Street house

A 27-year-old man is being questioned by police investigating a stabbing in east Belfast. A 23-year-old man who was also arrested has been released.

The 25-year-old victim remains seriously ill in hospital where he is being treated for stomach wounds. His condition is described as stable.

A PSNI spokesperson said the incident took place at a house at Epworth Street at about 1330 BST on Saturday.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact detectives.
