A suspicious object has been located in the Wattlebridge area near Newtownbutler.

Police are in the initial stages of examining the surrounding area in County Fermanagh.

It follows two separate telephone warnings to police about a suspicious device in the area on Saturday.

The operation is taking place in the area where the main A3 Clones to Cavan Road meets the B533 road from Newtownbutler.

A PSNI spokeswoman said police were asking people to be vigilant and not to touch anything suspicious.
