Three men have been arrested after an alleged kidnap and robbery in the greater Belfast area.

Police received reports that a man had been taken hostage in Belfast on Thursday morning.

His sister, who is a bank employee, was ordered to take a substantial amount of cash to an undisclosed location.

She handed money over to one man. Later police searched a house in north Belfast. Three men were arrested and a large amount of money seized.

The hostage, although shaken, is safe and well.

Detectives are appealing for information.
