A man has died following a road accident in County Down.

Michael Molloy, aged 36, from the Downpatrick area was involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Ardglass Road on Saturday night.

His partner and three children, aged six, four and one, who were also in the car were taken to hospital.

The woman is in a serious condition. The children's injuries include broken bones, but none are believed to be life-threatening.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested. The Ardglass Road has now re-opened.
