A train

A train travelling from Dublin to Cork has been derailed in County Kildare.

It struck debris which poured onto the track following a landslide in the Monasterevin area.

All services to Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Westport have been cancelled as a result.

None of the 300 people on board are understood to have been injured. However, the driver had to be treated for shock.

The derailed train was the 11am service from Dublin to Cork. Passengers are being bussed to their destinations.
