Search continues for missing man

Dingle Bay

The search for missing Belfast man Tony Crickard is continuing in County Kerry.

A team leaves Dingle Garda Station at 1000 BST on Tuesday. Mr Crickard's niece, Christine Mhic Giolla Mhin, said it was the last official search.

"The family are devastated. We're appealing for people from the Dingle area or Tralee to join in the search," she said.

It is believed Mr Crickard, 80, of Norfolk Parade, was last seen at Brandon Creek near Dingle on Friday.

He was in County Kerry for the funeral of his grandnephew.

Ms Mhic Giolla Mhin said the last time a family member saw Mr Crickard was in Dingle as he looked at chapel times on Friday.

"My brother, my son, cousin and nephew were with him. They'd gone for coffee and he was meant to join them 10 minutes later and didn't," she said.

"At the funeral he was a bit confused, but the family put it down to the travelling and the upset. We're all just very concerned and are appealing for any information that anyone can give."
