Woman awoken by intruder in room

burglary

A woman in Newtownards has awoken overnight to find a burglar in her bedroom.

The incident happened in the Bowtown estate of the town at about 0115 BST on Thursday.

It was later found that among the items stolen from the house was a quantity of prescription Thyroxin tablets.

Police have warned the drugs could be dangerous and have especially advised parents to be on the lookout in case their children find them.

They want anyone with information about the burglary to contact them.
