Man charged with stab murder bid

Court scales

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the attempted murder of another man in north Belfast.

Joseph Ferguson, 47, was charged at the city's magistrates court over an attack at Eskdale Gardens in the Ardyone area early on Tuesday.

A 29-year-old man suffered stab wounds, head injuries and a suspected broken leg in the attack, police said.

Mr Ferguson, of Alliance Avenue, Belfast, is to appear in court again next month.
