A file has been sent to the public prosecution service on a PSNI officer following his release from questioning under the Sexual Offences Act.

Constable Chris Murdoch, who is based in Coleraine, was named the Community Police Officer of the Year in 2006.

He was arrested with two Malaysian women after searches in Coleraine and Castlerock on Tuesday night.

One of the women was charged with running a brothel, at a special sitting of Ballymena Magistrates Court.

The other woman has been released, but a file has been sent to the public prosecution service.
