Man injured in crossbow assault

Police

A man has been treated in hospital following a crossbow attack in County Antrim, police have said.

It happened at about 2330 BST on Friday after the man answered the door of his home on Lisnamurrican Road, Broughshane.

A man in a motorcycle helmet asked for directions before another male wearing a crash helmet appeared and shot a crossbow-type weapon at him.

He sustained an injury to his hand. Police have appealed for information.

They said that the first male spoke with a Ballymena or Scottish accent, while the second had a Ballymena accent.
