Officers injured in road incident

Several police officers have been injured while arresting a man alleged to have been driving erratically in Dunmurry, near Belfast.

Seven vehicles, including five police cars, were involved in the incident, which took place at 0830 BST on Friday. Officers used their cars to box the driver in. He and another motorist who was caught up in the incident suffered minor injuries.

The Police Ombudsman has been informed, but is not investigating.

A follow-up operation is causing major traffic delays in the Dunmurry area. The main Lisburn Road, which was cordoned off for a time, has since reopened.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
