Girl bailed over Holland killing

Harry Holland

A 16-year-old girl has been remanded on bail charged with the murder of west Belfast green grocer Harry Holland last year.

The teenager, who cannot be identified because of her age, appeared before Belfast Youth Court.

Mr Holland, 65, was stabbed with a screwdriver near his home at Norfolk Drive last September.

The teenage girl has previously been charged with assaulting Mr Holland and causing him actual bodily harm.

A defence solicitor asked the police officer in charge of the case whether it was still the detective's view that the accused had not stabbed Mr Holland with the screwdriver.

The officer confirmed this was the case. The defendant was remanded on bail to appear again 21 May.
