Belfast Monopoly being launched

Monopoly board

A new Belfast edition of Monopoly is being launched, featuring many of the city's landmarks.

The game will also use custom made Northern Irish bank notes.

Monopoly bosses will take to Belfast's streets on Friday to canvass opinion on what should be included on the board.

Mark Marriott, who is involved in designing it, said the spirit and shape of the board will be identical to the original game.

"The only difference - and a huge fun difference it is - is that the street names will take on a Belfast feel and flavour," he said.

"It's vital the new board reflects the hearts and minds of Belfast and the length and breadth of the city.

"It will be geographically balanced too and almost certainly take in the Greater Belfast area."
