About 300 people have taken part in a prayer vigil in Dungannon to show solidarity with the family of Shaun Fitzpatrick.
The 32-year-old was found dead in an alleyway at Donaghmore Road in the town early on Easter Sunday.
Two men have been remanded in custody charged with his murder.
They are Andrius Dunauskas, 21, of Lisnahall Road in Dungannon, and Raminas Balseris, 24, of Altmore Drive, Dungannon.
Mayor of Dungannon Barry Monteith said Friday evening's vigil was "a heartfelt reaction" to what had happened.
"This is a very close knit community. We went through hard times in the past, unfortunately we thought days like these were over. But I think that it was important that people came together," he said.
Earlier on Friday, a detective told Dungannon magistrates court that he could connect the two Lithuanian nationals to the charges.
Mr Fitzpatrick, from the town's Lisnahull estate, had been beaten to death.
He was on his way home after a night out when he was attacked.
The pair will appear in court again via video-link on 16 April.
